Mark Van Meter of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a first-time member of the USBC Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 season. He has served in multiple capacities on both his state and local boards for nearly 40 years, serving as board director for both the New Mexico State Bowling Association and Central New Mexico Bowling Association. In 2004-2005, he was part of the transition committee that assisted both entities during the merge. Prior to that time, he served on the board of directors for both the United States Olympic Committee and USA Bowling and was board director of the Young American Bowling Alliance for the New Mexico State Bowling Association. Also, he is an accomplished bowler in his own right, having medaled more than 10 times while competing as a member of Team USA, securing a top-five finish at the 1978 Masters and notching the ABC’s high men’s high three-game series (859) and four-game series (1,138) marks during the 1977-1978 season.
