ACE Tool

The Automatic Certification Evaluation (ACE) tool is a state-of-the-art system designed to make bowling center inspections faster, more efficient, and highly accurate. Developed in-house by the USBC Equipment Specifications and Certifications team, with valuable contributions from other departments, ACE combines advanced precision measuring devices with innovative software to set a new standard in lane certification.

How ACE Works

ACE integrates several cutting-edge technologies to perform comprehensive inspections:

• Five Digital Dial Indicators: Mounted on custom-designed sleds to measure key lane dimensions.
• Three Digital Levels: Ensuring precise topography measurements.
• Four Digital Laser Distance Measuring Tools: Providing exact lane distance data.
• Bluetooth Connectivity: All tools connect wirelessly to an inspector’s laptop for seamless data transfer.
• Custom Software: Records measurements in real-time and loads them into a pre-designed data collection spreadsheet for instant processing and analysis.

Inspection Efficiency

Thanks to ACE, a single inspector can complete all the requirements for an annual lane inspection in under five minutes. This efficiency allows USBC to provide high-quality assessments while minimizing disruptions for bowling centers.
