Inducted: 1964
Burton spent most of his early years in Dallas, moving to St. Louis in 1938. In addition to his brilliant USBC Open Championships career, which included a doubles title in 1937, he was considered one of the top head-to-head match game stars in the 1930s and 1940s. A fearless competitor, Burton was particularly noted for risking his own money in these matches instead of depending on sponsors.
