Elaine Hagin joined the WIBC Board of Directors in 1973. During her more than 30 years of service to WIBC at the national level, Hagin served as WIBC seventh vice president, sixth vice president, fourth vice president, second vice president and first vice president. Hagin also was president of the Young American Bowling Alliance from 1991 to 1993 and of USA Bowling from 1996 to 1998. In other bowling-related leadership positions, Hagin served as national chair of the Bowling to Veterans Link; and as vice president of the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame. She also was a director of the Bowling Writers Association of America and a member of the Advisory Board of the Women's Sports Foundation. On the local and state levels, Hagin served as first vice president of the California Women's Bowling Association and president of the Alameda County WBA. Hagin was inducted into the Alameda County WBA Hall of Fame in 1975 and the California WBA Hall of Fame in 1988. From the National Women Bowling Writers, she received the Mary Jannetto Award, for outstanding promotion of local bowling, in 1987; the Jo Ettien Lieber Award, for distinguished service to the game of American tenpins, in 1988; and the AMF Helen Duval Award, for outstanding service to the Young American Bowling Alliance, in 1992.
