Dorothy Rowe has been recognized on numerous occasions for her more than 40 years of dedicated service to the sport. On the local and state levels, Rowe has the distinction of being a Phoenix and Arizona WBA Hall of Famer and life member, as well as a life member of the Arizona Women's Bowling Writers Association. Rowe was instrumental in the success of the 1962 WIBC Championship Tournament and Annual Meeting. She also assisted with the formation of the Phoenix WBA Queens Tournament, Phoenix WBA Lane Representative program, Arizona Women's Bowling Writers Association and Arizona Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. At the national level, Rowe continued to acquire administrative responsibilities. First elected to the WIBC Board of Directors in 1963, she served as a WIBC director, as well as seventh, sixth, fifth and fourth vice president. Rowe also chaired several WIBC committees, including Finance and Budget, Hall of Fame Selection, and Advisory and Planning, besides having served as a Young American Bowling Alliance director.
