Spigner achieved success in both USBC and PBA competition. He earned a USBC Open Championships title as a member of the Pollard's Bowl 1996 Team All-Events winner, which bowled a record 10,425. He has 12 top 10 finishes at the Open Championships, including second place in Classic All-Events in 1977 and the 1994 Regular Team event. In addition to his three PBA titles, he finished second in the 1979 USBC Masters, second in the 1978 U.S. Open and fourth in the 1980 PBA Tournament of Champions.
