Youth applications are due Dec. 1

ARLINGTON, Texas - Each year, USBC awards several scholarships to USB Youth bowlers and also recognizes individuals who are making a difference with USBC Youth bowlers through coaching or through youth programs.
 
The deadline to submit nominations for these scholarships and national awards is December 1. A look at the scholarships and national recognition awards:

Youth scholarship applications
    • Alberta E. Crowe Star of Tomorrow – For female bowlers with strong academic success and involvement in their community.
    • Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow – For male bowlers with strong academic success and involvement in their community.
    • USBC Youth Ambassador – Recognizes one male and one female bowler for his/her exemplary contributions in the sport outside of league or tournament play, academic accomplishments and community involvement.
    • USBC Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship – Recognizes bowlers for their community involvement and academic achievements.
    • USBC Annual Zeb Scholarship – Applicants must be in their 11th or 12th grade. This scholarship is based mainly on community service and very strong academic success.
    • USBC Gift for Life Scholarships – Available to any those currently in high school and holding a GPA of 2.0 or better who can demonstrate financial need.

Youth leader awards
    • David Dahms Coach of the Year – Recognizes a USBC-certified coach who has been actively involved in a USBC Youth program and has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to coaching, sportsmanship and knowledge of USBC Youth rules.
    • Kerm Helmer Horizon Award – Recognizes leaders or organizations in the bowling community who have displayed the courage, determination and ability to develop far-reaching programs of a national scope that provide fun and exciting opportunities for collegiate and/or youth bowlers.
    • USBC Youth Volunteer of the Year – Recognizes an adult volunteer who has displayed outstanding efforts to foster, organize and promote certified youth bowling programs at the local, state and/or national levels.
 
Each youth leader award recipient receives an expenses-paid trip to the awards ceremony held in conjunction with the USBC Convention.
