INDIANAPOLIS - The Wichita State women and Robert Morris-Illinois men claimed the titles Sunday at the Hoosier Classic, the largest event of the United States Bowling Congress Collegiate season.

In a dramatic women's championship match, Wichita State defeated Newman when the teams tied at 3.5 after seven games. Wichita State won the tiebreaker based on pinfall in the match, which was 1,310-1,260. In the semifinals, Wichita State swept Grand View, 2-0, while Newman outlasted McKendree, 2-1.

Robert Morris defeated Wisconsin-Whitewater, 4-3, to win the men's title. In the semifinals, Robert Morris knocked off Webber International, 2-0, while Wisconsin-Whitewater defeated Lindenwood 2-0.

Lindenwood's Michael Coffey led the men's individual standings with a nine-game total of 2,073 (230.33 average). Webber International's Ramon Hilferink finished second with 1,984, Calumet's Matt Kuba was third at 1,967 and Riely Chin of Fresno State was fourth with 1,965.

Sydney Brummett of Wichita State took top honors for the women with a nine-game total of 1,956 (217.33 average). Pikeville's Katelyn Simpson was second at 1,877, Florida State's Lauren Booke took third with 1,851 and Wichita State's Daria Kovalova was fourth with 1,844.

The Hoosier Classic is the final event of the USBC Collegiate regular season.
