USBC Youth are a part of PBA Women's Series Showdown audience
April 19, 2010
USBC Youth members had the opportunity to watch the top women bowlers in action when the PBA Women's Series Showdown presented by BOWL.com was held at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington, Texas.
Among the youth bowlers on hand to watch the taping of the PBA show that aired April 18 on ESPN were the Hansen triplets - Ashley, Brianne and Christina. The 15-year-olds bowl for McKinney High School and were part of the PBA/USBC Insiders' Tour. They were able to get autographs from the bowlers and also had special seats for the PBA Tour show.
"This is just a cool opportunity," Ashley Hansen said.
Brianne Hansen, who said a new ball recently helped her roll a career-high 278 game, said she was glad she had the chance to meet tournament winner Michelle Feldman "because she was the first woman to bowl a 300 on national television."
Christina Hansen added that it was good see "that even the pro mess up and that they go through what we do every time we bowl."
In addition to the Hansens, USBC Youth members that attended the taping were: Alexes Burton, Chris Barrett, Megan Bentham, Kasey and Torrey Brown, Jada and Jasmine Davis, Coy, Jewelya and Rebekkah Jones, Micah McCracken, Devin and Kaity Moses, Christi Nedved, Cody Pederson, Chris and Michael Signo, and Ashley Walker.
The USBC Youth were randomly selected to participate in the PBA/United States Bowling Congress Insiders' Tour. The Insiders' Tour, a joint program of the PBA and USBC, gives youth bowlers the opportunity to meet their favorite players on the PBA Tour, get a behind-the-scenes look at a PBA event and get special VIP seats for the televised finals.
