USBC receives STRIVE Award during Youth Sports Day

ARLINGTON, Texas – United States Bowling Congress Vice President Frank Wilkinson and USBC Executive Director Chad Murphy were presented the National Council of Youth Sports S.T.R.I.V.E. Organization of the Year Award by NCYS and AIG as part of NCYS Youth Sports Day in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.
The S.T.R.I.V.E (Sports Teach Respect, Initiative, Values and Excellence!) Award presented by AIG recognizes organizations that embrace a “kids’ first” approach based on implementation of recognized best practices and policies that protect children by promoting responsible health, wellness and safety within their organization while showcasing the positive benefits of youth sports.
Along with the award, USBC receives a $5,000 donation. The donation will go the Youth Education Services (YES) Fund, which has provided such programs as the High School Grant Assistance Program and USA Bowling.
Tuesday, NCYS and the Congressional Youth Sports Caucus, in celebration of National Youth Sports Week, were hosts of a physical activity Expo on Capitol Hill. The event was designed to showcase how youth sports organizations and members of Congress can collaborate to promote healthy lifestyles for children and their families through sports.
