USBC Convention begins Wednesday

ARLINGTON, Texas - The United States Bowling Congress Convention and Annual Meeting will be take place this week in Reno, Nev.
The three-day event kicks into gear Wednesday with numerous workshops and exhibits for delegates. Workshops continue Thursday morning, leading up to the start of the Annual Meeting in the afternoon. Included among the Thursday workshops is a Meet the Candidates session where delegates can hear from the candidates running for the four open positions on the USBC Board of Directors.
The USBC Annual Meeting starts Thursday afternoon with several awards presentations, including the Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL) and the Susan G. Komen Meet for the Cure presentations. Thursday evening, the 2013 USBC Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony will be held in the Eldorado Ballroom. A very limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the Registration Desk for $35.
During Friday's Annual Meeting session, delegates will vote on 12 proposals involving changes to USBC bylaws, league rules and tournament rules. Of the 12 proposals, nine relate to changes to USBC bylaws, one refers to league rules and two proposals concern tournaments.
Delegates also will select four members for the USBC Board of Directors. Eight candidates are running for the board; the USBC Nominating Committee slated six candidates (the committee may slate up to two candidates for each open position) and there are two candidates running from the floor.
