The Toledo men and Wright State women claimed victories over the weekend in the American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference I meet at Beaver-Vu Lanes in Beaver Creek, Ohio.
After seven games, Toledo finished with 7,444 to take a 45-pin victory over second-place finisher Notre Dame-Ohio. Marian claimed third. On the women's side, Wright State finished with 7,166 and ended just ahead of Bowling Green, which was second at 7,143.
Notre Dame-Ohio took the top two spots in the men's individual standings with Chris Via shooting a 297 game en route to a seven-game tally of 1,641. His teammate, Martez Walker, finished second with 1,559, while Jared Sierra of Wright State was third with 1,519.
Bowling Green's Nikki Sims took the top honors for the women in the individual standings with a seven-game total of 1,518. Marian's Amber Thompson was second with 1,472, while Notre Dame-Ohio's Jerracah Heibel was third with 1,434.
In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:
- West Texas A&M swept the men's and women's titles at the Southwestern Intercollegiate Bowling Conference I Tournament and at the Duke Classic.
- The Louisville men and Pikeville women came away with titles at the Green River Classic.
- In the Wisconsin Conference's first meet of the season, the Wisconsin-Whitewater men rolled to the title, while the Wisconsin-Milwaukee women earned the win.
