UMES wins third straight KU Invitational title

READING, Pa. - Maryland Eastern Shore won its third consecutive Kutztown Invitational title Sunday, defeating Wisconsin-Whitewater, 4-2.
UMES dropped the first game, 216-183, but rallied to win the next three, 208-171, 203-193 and 182-173, to take control of the title match. Wisconsin-Whitewater extended the match with a 182-168 win in Game 5, but Maryland Eastern Shore took Game 6, 206-205, to claim the title.
Vanderbilt defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-2, in the third-place match.
Norfolk State's Thea Aspiras earned top individual honors with a six-game total of 1,337. FDU's Liat Vizenfeld and Wisconsin-Whitewater's Lindsay Rusch tied for second at 1,329.
