U.S. teams win silver in trios at PABCON Youth

The Junior Team USA boys and girls continued their strong performances at the 2013 Pan American Bowling Confederation Youth Championships in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on Tuesday, earning silver medals in trios.
Kamron Doyle (1,310), Wesley Low (1,289) and Matthew Farber (1,159) claimed the boys trios silver medal with a six-game total of 3,758. A big performance by Andre Fors (1,401) helped Mexico take the gold medal with a 3,900 total.
In the girls division, Robyn Renslow (1,230), Natalie Goodman (1,159) and Sarah Lokker (1,133) combined for 3,522 over six games to win the silver medal. Colombia, led by Laura Plazas (1,311), won the gold.
Canada took the bronze medals. Mitch Hupe (1,264) led Canada's boys team while Miranda Panas (1,177) led the girls.
"The field is tough and both teams ran into a little trouble in the last game," Team USA assistant head coach Kim Terrell-Kearney said. "But we will learn from the experience and will work hard to bring home the gold in team."
The team event will be held Wednesday and Thursday. The championships conclude with the Masters competition on Friday.
With 18 of 24 games completed in the all-events race, Fors (4,083) holds a four-pin lead over Doyle. Low is fourth at 3,962, Gregory Young (3,920) is sixth and Farber (3,887) is seventh.
Mary Wells (3,766) leads the girls in all-events at 3,720, followed by Lokker (3,720) and Renslow (3,688). Goodman is at 3,269.
