ARLINGTON, Texas – Gift For Life Scholarships have been awarded to 12 United States Bowling Congress Youth bowlers by the International Bowling Campus Youth Committee.

Gift For Life Scholarships are presented annually to youth bowlers who currently are in high school and can demonstrate financial need. Applicants must have a grade-point average of 2.5 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale) and provide at least two letters of recommendation.

Applicants are selected based on submitted applications and each award winner receives a $1,000 scholarship managed through the SMART program.

This year’s Gift For Life Scholarship recipients are:

• Brooklyn Boudreau, Longview, Washington
• Hailey Collins, Springfield, Missouri
• Hannah Fryer, Rolla, Missouri
• Sarah Lamb, Indianapolis
• Sha'lise Oliver, Omaha, Nebraska
• Matthew Ruff, Milan, Michigan
• Carrington Russell, Virginia Beach, Virginia
• Craig Sanders, Powder Springs, Georgia
• Matthew Schroeder, Janesville, Wisconsin
• Alyssa Schwartz, Waterville, Minnesota
• Cameron Spring, Allegany, New York

Nine of this year’s recipients are high school seniors, two are juniors and one is a sophomore.
The IBC Youth Committee can award up to 12 Gift For Life Scholarships each year.

Two of the awards are reserved for children of fire department, emergency rescue or police personnel. Schroeder’s father is a sergeant in the sheriff’s department and Schwartz’s father serves as a volunteer with the fire department.
