Team USA earns silver in men’s doubles at PASF

ARLINGTON, Texas – Team USA members Nathan Bohr of Austin, Texas, and Mike Fagan of Dallas teamed to capture the silver medal in doubles competition on Thursday at the Pan American Sports Festival in Puebla, Mexico.
The Team USA duo combined for a pinfall total of 3,341 to finish behind Colombia’s Manuel Otalora and Jaime Gonzalez, who took gold with a 3,452 total. Costa Rica’s James Esquivel and Alejandro Moreno earned the bronze with a 3,338 total.
Kayla Johnson of Washington, Illinois, and Sarah Lokker of New Baltimore, Michigan, tied for fifth in the women’s doubles competition with a 2,995 total. Maria Ramirez Solera and Viviana Delgado Cruz of Costa Rica shot 3,178 to take gold with Clara Guerrero and Anggie Ramirez of Colombia (3,146) earning silver. Canada’s Miranda Panas and Lynne Gauthier took bronze.
The Pan American Sports Festival is a qualifier for the Pan American Games, which will be held in Toronto next year. Team USA member AJ Johnson of Oswego, Illinois, also is at the event as an alternate for the men's team.
Bowling is one of 23 sports taking part in the Pan American Sports Festival. The competition continues Friday with mixed doubles while singles will take place Saturday. The tournament concludes Sunday with Masters match play.
