Tang, Doyle claim boys doubles gold at PABCON Youth

The Junior Team USA boys pairing of Michael Tang of San Francisco and Kamron Doyle of Brentwood, Tennessee, took the boys doubles gold medal Monday at the 2015 Pan American Bowling Confederation Youth Championships in Panama.
Tang and Doyle combined for a six-game total of 2,719 to win the title at Bolera Sede in Panama City. Tang fired a blistering total of 1,429 (238.17 average), while Doyle shot 1,290.
After starting with games of 273, 235 and 247, Tang closed out the set with 236, 213 and 225. Doyle, who won the singles gold medal Sunday, had games of 246, 187, 225, 229, 193 and 210.
Teammates Greg Young of Viera, Florida, and Wesley Low of Palmdale, California, earned the silver medal with 2,701. Young tallied 1,372, while Low added 1,329.
Canada's Josh Brant-Parkin and Sean Coutts took the bronze medal with 2,683.
Colombia's Laura Plazas and Juliana Franco earned the girls doubles gold medal with 2,535, while Canada's Leigha Carnevale and Mykaela Mitchel took the silver with 2,516.
The bronze medal went to Junior Team USA's Breanna Clemmer of Clover, South Carolina, and Stephanie Schwartz of Racine, Wisconsin, with 2,410. Clemmer had 1,252, and Schwartz contributed 1,158.
Teammates Sydney Brummett of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Gazmine Mason of Cranston, Rhode Island, fired 2,373 to finish fourth. Brummett had 1,226, while Mason added 1,147.
The PABCON Youth Championships, which features teams from the American Zone, awards medals in six events - singles, doubles, trios, team, all-events and match-play Masters.
The event continues today with the trios event.
