QUALIFYING STANDINGS
OSHKOSH, Wis. – Teams representing the Southeast and Pacific regions earned the top spots for the final day of match play in the 12-and-under and 15-and-under divisions, respectively, at the 2025 USA Bowling National Championships Wednesday at Revs Bowl.
Teams in both divisions bowled 15 qualifying Baker format matches (the U12 division had 15 teams instead of 16 and, therefore, bowled one game against a “blind” that counted for pinfall, but not in their overall match play record) and while all teams advanced to Thursday’s double-elimination match play bracket, it was their records on Wednesday that determined seeding.
Bowling out of the Southeast region in U12, the Buffaloe Lanes Boardwalkers earned the top seed for Thursday’s match play by compiling a 10-3-1 record. That record was half a game better than the teams from the Lower Great Lakes, Northeast and South Central regions, who all went 10-4. Teams with the same match play record during qualifying have the tie broken by total pinfall and, based on that criteria, Lower Great Lakes (2,972) will be seeded second, Northeast will be third (2,802) and South Central fourth (2,764) on Thursday.
The Boardwalkers posted Baker games of 180, 219, 190, 161, 157, 194, 161, 190, 221, 161, 150, 214, 201, 157 and 221, for a total of 2,777, while compiling their field-best 10-3-1 match play record. They are coached by Kelly Belcher and feature team members Katelyn Belcher, Jameer Brown, Lakai Cooley, Derrick Jackson and Olivia Jackson.
The 2,972 total posted by Lower Great Lakes region’s Dem Midwest Boyz is a USA Bowling National Championships U12 qualifying record, but since their match play record was not as good as the Boardwalkers, they ended up seeded second. The 260 rolled by Dem Midwest Boyz in Game 12 was the highest during U12 qualifying on Wednesday.

U15 Qualifying Leaders - Pacific Region - Starlight Strikers
In the U15 division, the Pacific region’s Starlight Strikers set a U15 qualifying record by going 12-3 on Wednesday. That mark was one game better than the team from the South region (11-4). The South Central region (10-4-1) claimed the No. 3 seed for Thursday, while the New England region will be seeded fourth (10-5).
The Starlight Strikers put together games of 203, 238, 255, 278, 235, 199, 215, 167, 249, 201, 197, 216, 173, 223 and 167, for a total of 3,216, on the way to their record-setting 12-3 mark.
On the roster for the Starlight Strikers are Kobe Cabanting, Louis Cloud, Joey Hammer, Trenton Ichimura Jr. and Jake Sale. Their head coach is Dean Buchanan.
The highest pinfall in the U15 division on Wednesday belonged to the team representing the Lower Great Lakes region with 3,228. That team also had the high game (290) in the U15 division on Wednesday. Despite those impressive numbers, Lower Great Lakes went 8-6-1 and qualified sixth.
Thursday competition at Revs Bowl features all teams in best-of-three double-elimination bracket match play that will result in two teams from each division advancing to Sunday’s final round in an arena setting at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
Sunday’s best-of-five match finals will be taped by CBS Sports Network. The U12 finals will air Tuesday, July 15, at 7 p.m. Eastern and the U15 finals will be televised on Tuesday, July 22, at 7 p.m. Eastern.
BowlTV is providing live coverage of the qualifying and match play rounds leading up to the finals and, once again, more than $120,000 in scholarship money is being awarded at this year’s event.
The 2025 USA Bowling National Championships feature 15 regions competing in U12 and 16 in U15. Each team competing in Wisconsin earned their spot by winning their regional event.
