Six Junior Gold bowlers get Dahms Sportsmanship Award
ARLINGTON, Texas – Six youth bowlers who competed at the 2016 Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and Master have been selected to receive the David Dahms Sportsmanship Award.
The David Dahms Sportsmanship Award is given to competitors who best exemplify sportsmanship, leadership, positive attitude and enthusiasm during the Junior Gold Championships, which were held in Indianapolis in July. One male and one female recipient in each division has been selected by the International Bowling Campus Youth Committee based on nominations received from Junior Gold participants.
Each of the U12 award recipients receive $250 scholarships while the U15 and U20 recipients each will receive a $500 scholarship. The 2016 David Dahms Sportsmanship Award recipients are:
12 and under division
- Girls: Shelby Foster, Tulsa, Okla.
- Boys: Trevor Kling, Aurora, Colo.
15 and under division
- Girls: Faith Welch, Savannah, Tenn.
- Boys: David Painter, Greeneville, Tenn.
20 and under division
- Girls: Adrianna Stacy, Sebring, Fla.
- Boys: Jordan Dawkins, Cibolo, Texas
The award is named for David Dahms, who was instrumental in the development of the Junior Gold program.
