Six athletes selected to represent Team USA at 2026 Para Bowling World Championships
ARLINGTON, Texas – Six outstanding athletes have been chosen by the National Selection Committee to represent the United States on the lanes at the 2026 International Bowling Federation Para Bowling World Championships, which will be contested from May 1-9 at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl, Siam Paragon, in Bangkok, Thailand.
The American roster will feature Shawn Beam of Burleson, Texas; Austin Fosmire of Gainesville, Virginia; Debra Freed of Framingham, Massachusetts; Chris Helf of West Valley City, Utah; George Holscher of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Gina Jenkins of Bedford, Texas.
Competition will take place across seven different classifications at the Para Bowling World Championships with Para Team USA athletes representing the TPB8, TPB9 and TPB10 classifications.
The event’s official practice session and opening ceremony will take place on May 1 before tournament play begins on May 2.
Singles competition will take place from May 2-4 with doubles action to follow on May 5-7 and the team event bringing the schedule to a close on May 8-9.
After the last balls have been rolled and the final medals have been awarded, the Victory Banquet will officially bring the 2026 IBF Para World Championships to a close on the evening of May 9.
Freed, Holscher and Jenkins will hope to find the same level of success in Thailand as they enjoyed at the 2025 IBF Para Bowling World Championships in Hong Kong.
Holscher fueled the Team USA effort at that event with a gold medal in doubles (with David Nelson, Jr. of Gretna, Nebraska) and silver in singles and all-events while Freed and Jenkins teamed up to win doubles gold of their own.
