ALLEN PARK, Mich.- Jordan Richard of Tipton, Michigan, finds herself in a familiar spot after leading the Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour Championship, going 5-3 in match play with an grand total of 1,885.

Last year in Waterloo, Richard led the first day of the Tour Championship, eventually making the TV show and ending up fourth on her way to winning Player of the Year.

Summer Jasmin of Beckley, West Virginia, is not far behind Richard at 1,852 in second place, while Julia Bond is third at 1,842. Stefanie Johnson of McKinney, Texas (1,822), and Erin McCarthy of Elkhorn, Nebraska (1,792), round out the top five, respectively.

Canada’s Felicia Wong (1,780); Stephanie Zavala of Long Beach, California (1,777); Hope Gramly of Aubrey, Texas (1,768); Lauren Russo of Ballwin, Missouri (1,764); and defending Tour Championship winner Maria Jose Rodriguez (1,740) close out the top 10.

Jasmin entered Tour Championship as the No. 21 seed but quickly showed that she is one to watch out for during the block, keeping the game simple for herself.

“I kept things in front of me, made couple of good ball choices and chased it left, which I love to do,” said Jasmin. “I did hit a couple of weird pairs but finished strong. I’m super grateful and just having a good time right now.”

Jasmin is looking to make her first telecast in her career and is good position to do so with 16 more match play games Monday, showing the hard work that she put in during the offseason.

“I made it my goal to make it to Tour Championship. I was bowling four days a week at least two hours each day, and right before the season started I threw 80 games to get the feel down.”

All competitors will return to Thunderbowl Lanes for two more eight-game blocks of matches on Monday with rounds starting at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern.

At the conclusion of the final eight-game block, the top five bowlers, based on total pinfall and bonus pins, will advance to Tuesday’s stepladder finals and compete for the $50,000 top prize.

BowlTV.com will broadcast the final two match-play rounds, and the stepladder finals will air Tuesday at 7 p.m. Eastern live on CBS Sports Network.
