RENO, Nev. –
The members of Phat Kidz Crew of Pekin, Illinois, recorded the top team score at the 2025 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships, posting 3,300 to earn the victory in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The group – featuring Travis Anderson, Andrew Stone, Anthony Recsnik, Thomas Barnwell and Steven Taylor – claimed their first Eagles with the win in Regular Team, powered by games of 1,118, 1,140 and 1,042. The 1,118 was the highest opening game of the 2025 event at the Raising Cane’s River Center, and the 1,140 showing in Game 2 registered in the top 15 overall for the year.

Barnwell led the performance with a 715 series and was followed by Stone (705), Taylor (656), Recsnik (632) and Anderson (592).

The team took over the top spot on April 13 and outlasted the competition for more than 100 days until the final ball was rolled at the end of the July. They also finished the 2025 event in third place for Team All-Events with a 9,879 total.

The five teammates recently returned to the USBC Open Championships to put their title on the line at the 2026 event in Reno, Nevada.

Although they did not return to the top of the leaderboard at the National Bowling Stadium, the members of Phat Kidz Crew did make their way to fifth place in Team All-Events with a 9,782 total and currently sit in the top 30 of Regular Team after games of 1,014, 1,033 and 1,019 for a 3,066 series. Ohio's FOF/KPT leads Team All-Events (10,120) and Regular Team (3,365) at the 2026 event.

Anderson led the way for the group in 2026, finishing with an all-events score of 2,047. Stone finished at 1,992, Taylor had 1,990, Barnwell closed with 1,947 and Recsnik had 1,806.

The Open Championships is celebrating its 122nd edition in 2026 and making its 15th trip to Reno, Nevada. The 2026 event is scheduled to feature more than 55,000 bowlers and 11,000 five-player teams competing across 128 consecutive days at the National Bowling Stadium.
