ARLINGTON, Texas – Bowlers on the Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour have known for quite some time that the Regional Showdown would serve as the final event of the 2023 PWBA Tour season.

Now, those bowlers know where the event will be held not only this season, but next season as well.

The 2023 and 2024 editions of the PWBA Regional Showdown will be held at Aloma Bowl in Winter Park, Florida, which has signed an agreement to host the event for the next two years.

Jennifer Serowchak, Director of Bowling for Aloma Bowling Centers, is very pleased that Aloma will be hosting some of the best up-and-coming bowlers in the world for such a prestigious event.

“We are extremely proud and excited to be hosting the PWBA Regional Showdown for the next two years,” Serowchak said. “It’s a signature tournament with an elite field of athletes. We will do whatever it takes to ensure that the event is enjoyable for both players and fans.”

The 2023 Regional Showdown will be contested Dec. 7-9; the 2024 event is slated to take place Dec. 5-7.

Each regional champion will automatically be seeded for match play at the Regional Showdown. The remaining spots in the 16-person field will be awarded based on the results of an eight-game qualifying round that will be open to all PWBA Regional-eligible bowlers.

The top 16 players will compete in round-robin match play before the field is cut to the final four bowlers for the stepladder finals.

Every player who qualifies for match play will cash at the Regional Showdown. If the number of entries is high enough, additional cash spots outside the top 16 will be paid at a ratio of 1:3 as is done for PWBA National Tour prize funds.

The winner of the 2023 Regional Showdown will not only receive a cash prize, but she will also have her entry fees covered for all 2024 PWBA National Tour singles events as well.

Ashley Rucker of Bartlesville, Oklahoma (PWBA Greater Dallas Regional), Andrea Behr of Kettering, Ohio (PWBA Greater Detroit Regional), and Katelyn Simpson of Nampa, Idaho (PWBA Spokane Regional), have already punched their tickets to this year’s Regional Showdown by capturing titles earlier this season.

There are still five potential automatic berths up for grabs this season with the PWBA Cleveland Regional (June 11); PWBA Greater Pittsburgh Regional (July 22); PWBA Rockford Regional (Aug. 27); PWBA Twin Cities Regional (Sept. 24) and PWBA Northern Colorado Regional (Nov. 11) remaining on the schedule.

Registration for the final three events – Rockford, Twin Cities and Northern Colorado – is now open. Players who wish to participate can sign up for these events at PWBA.com/Regionals.

To be eligible to enter a PWBA Regional event, a female competitor must average at least 180. PWBA Tour national champions, regardless of membership status at the time of their win, will not be eligible to compete in any PWBA Regional event. 

The cost to enter a PWBA Regional event is $100 for a member and $150 for a non-member.
