ARLINGTON, Texas - The Professional Women's Bowling Association was well-represented last month at the International Bowling Federation World Championships, with several members and past champions claiming medals while representing their countries in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The event featured the IBF Super World Championships, inaugural IBF Para Bowling World Championships and IBF Masters (formerly Senior) World Championships taking place at the Dubai International Bowling Centre from Nov. 6-26.

At the Super World Championships, medals were presented in singles, doubles, trios, mixed team and team competition, with the most valuable players and most valuable federations also being recognized in the women's and men's divisions.

Two-time PWBA Tour champions Shayna Ng and Cherie Tan each collected three medals while in Dubai and helped Singapore earn the Most Valuable Federation award in the women's division. They were joined on the lanes by 2016 PWBA Rookie of the Year New Hui Fen and Iliya Syamim.

Ng kicked off the 2021 Super World Championships by winning gold in singles competition, defeating Tan in the best-of-two title match in a roll-off, 2-1, to capture her second career gold medal at the World Championships.

Ng and Tan went on to capture bronze medals in trios with New and Syamim and mixed team with Ray Han Cheah and Darren Ong.

PWBA major champions Kelly Kulick and Missy Parkin teamed to win two medals for Team USA and shared Most Valuable Player honors in the women's division.

Kulick and Parkin joined fellow PWBA Tour champions Danielle McEwan and Jordan Richard to win team gold at the Super World Championships, marking the first win for the United States in team competition on the women's side since 2015.

Kulick and Parkin also teamed with Professional Bowlers Association Tour stars Jakob Butturff and Kristopher Prather to earn a silver medal in the new mixed team event.

Sandra Andersson, who won the 2019 PWBA Fountain Valley Open, also collected a pair medals and helped Sweden earn the award for Most Valuable Federation as the top-performing country overall. Sweden also won the Most Valuable Federation honor on the men's side.

Andersson captured a gold medal in mixed team with Joline Persson Planefors, Jesper Svensson and William Svensson, while taking home silver in doubles with Planefors.

Siti Rahman, the first Malaysian-born player to win a PWBA Tour title at the 2017 PWBA Wichita Open, claimed a silver medal in team competition for Malaysia, and Laura Plazas earned a bronze medal in trios for Colombia.

At the Masters World Championships, which featured competition in singles, doubles, mixed team and team, PWBA Hall of Famer Tish Johnson collected three bronze medals for Team USA.

The 25-time titlist started the event with bronze in singles, and she paired with Sharon Powers in doubles for her second medal of the week. Johnson's third bronze came in the team event, where she was joined by Powers, Tracy Calfee and longtime PWBA member Debbie Ayers.
