On the Lanes with George Gohagan III
April 14, 2010
In the coming months, we'll talk with some of the best-known bowlers at the USBC Open Championships and get their thoughts on their time at the tournament and what it takes to succeed on the championship lanes.
This week, we heard from two-time champion George Gohagan III, who helped Browning Pontiac of Eminence, Ky., to the 2006 Regular Team title and the Team All-Events crown at the National Bowling Stadium in 2007.
The smooth-rolling left-hander has maintained a 210.2 average through five trips to the Open Championships, including a 218.2 mark in the team event, 10 pins better than singles (208.1) and nearly 14 pins better than doubles (204.5).
Gohagan is coming off of a career-best, 2,028 all-events total, and he will lead his team back into Reno on April 16 and 17 as they look to reclaim the title they took home three years ago.
