New squad times, tiered pricing for 2015 Open Championships
February 21, 2014
RENO, Nev. - Registration for the 2015 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships is open, and changes for the tournament's first visit to El Paso, Texas, include variable pricing and new squad times.
USBC has implemented a tiered pricing structure for entry fees based on the day of the week teams choose to compete. The new squad schedule means no early mornings or late nights for competitors.
The Standard price point serves as the foundation of the tiered structure, keeping entry fees in line with previous events - $55 per event and an optional $15 for all-events - for a total of $180 per bowler.
Value pricing is offered for select squads, often mid-week, and include incentives for bowlers. The entry fees will be the same as the Standard level, but competitors who choose these times will receive $15 in Championships Cash vouchers when they check in at the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center. Championships Cash can be redeemed for purchases inside the venue, such as food and beverage, merchandise, select brackets products and more.
Premium pricing, which primarily will include Friday and Saturday team squads, will be an additional $75 per team. However, teams that act fast and register (paying for team event and premium fee) by June 13, 2014, will be eligible for $20 in Championships Cash per bowler upon checking in at the 2015 tournament.
Any day not listed as Value or Premium will feature Standard pricing and no change in price. There will continue to be a $25 processing fee per team with additional charges for captains choosing to enter on paper.
Bowlers headed to El Paso in 2015 will enjoy a new, more convenient squad schedule. Each day in El Paso will begin with doubles and singles squads at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., followed by team events at 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. On select days, the 8:30 p.m. squad will be doubles/singles.
Online registration for the 2015 Open Championships is open. Dates and times are filled in real-time, and captains can see what dates and times are available once they log in.
