Midland men, Wichita State win Collegiate Shoot-Out

LAS VEGAS - The Midland men and Wichita State women came away with titles at the Collegiate Shoot-Out on Monday in one of the major USBC Collegiate events of the season. The tournament was broadcast live on Bowl TV.
Midland finished with 12,354 (including bonus pins) to win the men's division. Calumet and William Penn finished tied for second with 11,803. Calumet won the tiebreaker 214-185 to take second place.
In the men's individual standings, Mitch Katic of Calumet led the field with a six-game total of 1,442. Justin Thompson of Kansas was second with 1,431, while Perry Crowell of Midland was third with 1,413.
The Wichita State women finished with 11,506 to top Pikeville's 11,243. Webber International finished third with 11,111.
Jazreel Tan of Wichita State topped the women's individual standings with a six-game total of 1,416. Pikeville's Christina Halen was second with 1,346, while Katie Thornton of Webber International was third with 1,295.
