In the 2024 PBA/PBA50/PWBA Jonesboro Trios — the first tournament to award national titles to all three professional bowling tours — François Lavoie, Tom Hess and Breanna Clemmer emerged victorious at Hijinx Entertainment Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Lavoie, Hess and Clemmer, who qualified as the No. 4 seed for the championship round, climbed the stepladder to win the title. They defeated Justin Knowles, Parker Bohn III and Alexis Runk in the title match, 224-181.
Lavoie, who bowled the first, fourth, seventh and 10th frames of each match in the baker trios format, earned his sixth career PBA Tour title and second in Jonesboro.
Hess notched his ninth career PBA50 Tour title and fourth of the 2024 season, tying John Janawicz for the most on the senior tour. He bowled the third, sixth and ninth frames.
Bowling the second, fifth and eighth frames, Clemmer captured the second title of her PWBA Tour career.
All players bowled two five-game qualifying rounds within their respective division on the 40-foot Monacelli oil pattern.
Trios teams were formed based on qualifying seed; the top qualifier in the PBA, PBA50 and PWBA divisions comprise Team 1, and so on. Lavoie, Hess and Clemmer each qualified in fourth.
Pinfall was dropped for 16 games of round-robin match play using the baker trios format.
All teams rotated their lineup for the first 15 games in the order of PBA50, PWBA and PBA. Each player bowled five games from each position.
