March 11, 2014
ARLINGTON, Texas - Applications and nominations now are being accepted for the 2014 Jim Jaryszak Laneman Award. The deadline to make a submission is March 31.
The Jim Jaryszak Laneman Award recognizes a person for their behind-the-scenes work as a laneman. The award was established in 2011 in honor of the former USBC Research Manager who passed away in late 2010. Jaryszak was instrumental in setting up the USBC Sport Bowling program and was the point person as USBC worked with the PBA on updating their five “animal” patterns.
To submit a nomination or application, go to BOWL.com/EquipandSpecs or click here. Last year’s nominees/applicants remain in consideration for this year’s award.
The Jim Jaryszak Laneman Award is presented each year at Bowl Expo. Len Nicholson, the former director of lane maintenance for the Professional Bowlers Association, was the first recipient of the award in 2011. Sam Baca, the first Director of Lane Maintenance for the PBA, received the honor in 2012 and Kegel founder John Davis was posthumously honored with the award in 2013.
