BATON ROUGE, La. -
Greta Kozar of Chamblee, Georgia, enjoyed her first United States Bowling Congress Women's Championships appearance in 1968 so much that she decided she wanted to come back and experience the event each year.

Kozar has continued to make her annual appearance at the world's largest participatory sporting event for women, and she celebrated that longevity this weekend at the Raising Cane's River Center as she made her 50th consecutive tournament appearance.

The 81-year-old right-hander received a plaque, chevron and necklace to commemorate the milestone.

Kozar's first trip to the USBC Women's Championships took place in San Antonio, and the event at Wonder Bowl still serves as a personal favorite. Throughout her career at the event, she has visited 34 cities and 24 states.

"San Antonio was my best, when I first started," Kozar said. "I enjoyed every minute of it. All of them have been great experiences with great friends, and I wouldn't change a thing."

The Greater Atlanta USBC Hall of Famer has enjoyed the hospitality she's received throughout the years, too, and plans to keep her consecutive streak intact next year in Reno, Nevada.

She also plans to keep having fun on and off the lanes, even if her scores don't match her excitement.

"I don't want to shoot a 300 because I know I'll never make it," joked Kozar, who bowls regularly at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia. "I want to keep going, though."

In her 50th appearance, Kozar rolled sets of 382 in doubles, 356 in team and 323 in singles for a 1,061 all-events total.
