Finalists determined for Go Bowling PWBA Challenge
ARLINGTON, Texas - With the conclusion of the Professional Women's Bowling Association Greater Harrisburg Open last weekend, the finalists for the Go Bowling PWBA Challenge have been determined.
Danielle McEwan of Stony Point, New York, Shannon O'Keefe of O'Fallon, Illinois, Josie Barnes of Nashville, Tennessee, and Bryanna Coté of Red Rock, Arizona, will compete for the top prize of $5,000 on June 24 at 4 p.m. Eastern at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
Go Bowling, the consumer-facing brand of the bowling industry, sponsored this special competition for PWBA Tour competitors. Players earned their way to the finals based of their performance during the first six standard events of the 2018 PWBA Tour season.
The finals of the Go Bowling PWBA Challenge will be broadcast live on Xtra Frame.
The four players will compete in a bracket-style final, with McEwan, the top overall seed, facing Coté, while the other semifinal will feature O'Keefe against Barnes. The winners advance to the finals to compete for the top prize.
McEwan, O'Keefe and Barnes maintained their spots in the top four by advancing to the Round of 12 at the PWBA Greater Harrisburg Open. Coté jumped from seventh to fourth place by advancing to the stepladder finals at ABC West Lanes in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. She edged Colombia's Maria Jose Rodriguez by 50 points to earn the final spot.
In addition to the $5,000 top prize, the runner-up of the Go Bowling PWBA Challenge will receive $3,000, while each semifinalist will receive $1,000.
The Go Bowling PWBA Challenge will help kick off the second major of the PWBA Tour season, the U.S. Women's Open, which will run at Boardwalk Bowl from June 23-30. The finals of the U.S. Women's Open will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network on June 30 at 5 p.m. Eastern.
