Field determined for 2019 Intercollegiate Singles Championships

ARLINGTON, Texas - The field for the 2019 Intercollegiate Singles Championships now is set after four qualifying events were held Friday throughout the United States.
The 2019 ISC will feature 24 men and 24 women competing for individual national titles April 16-17 at Poelking Lanes South in Dayton, Ohio. The men's and women's semifinals and championship rounds will be taped April 20 for broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
The women's ISC broadcast will air April 23 at 11 p.m. Eastern and be followed by the men's broadcast April 30 at 8 p.m. Eastern.
During Friday's competition, participants bowled six games, with the top four men and top four women at each sectional guaranteed a spot in Dayton next month. The eight additional men and eight additional women who advanced were determined based on the number of entries at each sectional.
Davenport's Sean Taylor fired games of 286, 299 and 223 for an 808 total in his final three games to earn the top spot in Stratford, New Jersey, with a 1,417 total. Joining Taylor from Stratford are Jorge Rodriguez-Rosas of Lincoln Memorial; Vincent Gehret of Penn State-University Park; Tom Hankey of Webber International; and SUNY-Stony Brook's Kurt Schall.
Fairleigh Dickinson's Karsyn Lukosius also connected for a 299 game in Stratford to lead the women's field, rolling to a 1,394 score. She'll be joined in Dayton by Fairleigh Dickinson teammates Aimee Sherman and Amanda Chrzanowski along with Chloe Skurzynski of Maryland Eastern Shore; Leslie Campbell of Wright State; and Kayla Johnson of Long Island-Brooklyn.
Wisconsin-Whitewater's Ryan Winters paced the field in Smyrna, Tennessee, posting a 1,408 total. Also advancing from the men's field in Smyrna are Indiana Tech's Marcus McClain and Keen Ching; Nathan Stubler of St. Ambrose; and Jeffery Mann of Marian.
Three of the six women's qualifiers from Smyrna compete for Vanderbilt, including tournament leader Maria Bulanova, who finished with a 1,401 total. She was joined by fellow Commodores Jordan Newham and Adel Wahner. Additional players advancing from Smyrna are Averi Brown of Arkansas State; Megan Hess of St. Ambrose; and Sarah Gill of Stephen F. Austin.
The men's qualifier in Addison, Illinois, featured 268 competitors, with Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Matt Hibbard leading a total of nine qualifiers to Dayton with a 1,406 total. The other qualifiers include Alex Ouellette of Concordia; Bryan Bourget of Robert Morris-Illinois; Pete Vergos of Calumet; 2016 ISC champion Daniel Hanson of Robert Morris-Illinois; Alex Acosta of Saint Xavier; Kyle McGrath of Lawrence Tech; Logan Williams of Robert Morris-Illinois; and Michael Pruchnik of St. Francis-Illinois.
A total of eight women qualified from Addison, led by Grand View's Amanda Duplan (1,290). Bailey Delrose of Maryville; Olivia Farwell of Duquesne; Rebecca Dodson of Mount St. Mary's; Haley Cummings of Lindenwood; Meghan Macunovich of Robert Morris-Illinois; Samantha Laird of Hastings; and Destiny Miller of Saint Xavier also advanced.
Ottawa's Daniel Hall rolled to the top spot in Dallas, finishing his six-game block with a 1,427 total. He'll be joined in next month's ISC field by Morgan Moore of Midland; Ryan Dudley of Iowa Central Community College; Kristopher Yadao of Midland; and Kyle Duster of Wichita State.
McKendree's Breanna Clemmer earned her spot at the ISC by leading the field in Dallas, finishing with 1,295. Clemmer, the 2019 U.S. Amateur champion, was followed in the standings by Megan Carpenter of Baker; Sierra Kanemoto of Wichita State; and Rachel Strogin of Alabama-Birmingham.
There will be new champions in both the men's and women's divisions in 2019. Robert Morris-Illinois' Kenny Ryan and Stephen F. Austin's Stephanie Schwartz claimed the 2018 titles as part of their senior seasons.
Sectional competition will resume starting Saturday as the focus now turns to team play. The Intercollegiate Team Championships qualifying events will take place Saturday and Sunday.
Total pinfall for 64 Baker games will determine the top four men's and top four women's teams from each site that will advance to the ITC, which also is taking place at Dayton's Poelking Lanes South from April 18-20.
