Fairleigh Dickinson wins Kutztown Invitational

READING, Pa. - Defending NCAA champions Fairleigh Dickinson defeated top seed Maryland Eastern Shore, 4-2, on Sunday to win the 2011 Kutztown Invitational.
The event, which was streamed live from start to finish on BOWL.com, featured the largest field of the regular season in NCAA competition. The Knights dropped the first two games to the Hawks but came roaring back to win four straight. They clinched the title with a 245-196 victory in Game 6.
Vanderbilt defeated Kutztown, 4-1, to win the third-place match. The Commodores won the fifth game 245-225 to seal the win.
Norfolk State's Thea Aspiras was the top individual in the tournament with a six-game total of 1,332, an average of 222. Natalie Cortese of Valparaiso and Jessica Earnest of Vanderbilt tied for second with 1,312.
