Ebonite now Junior Gold presenting sponsor
July 27, 2012
ARLINGTON, Texas – The International Bowling Campus and Ebonite International have agreed on a sponsorship deal making the Brands of Ebonite the presenting sponsor for the 2013 and 2014 North Pointe Junior Gold Championships.
The agreement will make the Brands of Ebonite International the official bowling ball of the North Pointe Junior Gold Championships and the United States Bowling Congress Survivor Tournament. The Brands of Ebonite include Track, Columbia 300, Ebonite and Hammer.
“The support of high-level youth competition is crucial for the growth of our sport,” said Bob Reid, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Ebonite International, Inc. “We are proud to partner with the International Bowling Campus youth team to foster that growth through the North Pointe Junior Gold Program.”
In addition to its monetary contribution to the tournament, selected North Pointe Junior Gold Championships participants will have the opportunity to attend a special clinic hosted by Ebonite International staff coach Mark Baker, and the company will offer bowling balls to Survivor Tournament participants at a reduced price.
“We appreciate Ebonite International’s support of youth bowling and are excited to have them partner with us for the tournament,” said Chad Murphy, IBC Managing Director of Youth Development. “Ebonite International is a respected name in bowling, and this agreement will benefit the youth bowlers participating in the North Point Junior Gold Championships in many ways.”
Murphy said most bowling ball brands already are involved with youth bowling as part of the Youth Education Services (YES) Fund, and all were afforded the opportunity to become the presenting sponsor.
“We appreciate all of our YES Fund partners and what they do for youth bowling and felt it was important to give all a chance to participate,” Murphy said.
The North Pointe Junior Gold Championships is an annual national youth tournament that awards $250,000 in scholarships and determines spots on Junior Team USA. The tournament has four divisions – U15 boys and girls, and U20 boys and girls. Qualifying events are held throughout the country and you must be a Junior Gold member to qualify for the national tournament.
