Lindenwood men, RMU-Illinois women take Boilermaker Classic titles
LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Lindenwood rode a strong performance in Baker matches to capture the men's title and the Robert Morris-Illinois women's team won its third title of the season at the Boilermaker Classic held Oct. 29-30 at Mike Aulby's Arrowhead Bowl.
The Lindenwood men trailed Morehead State by three pins after the opening day of competition before taking control in the Baker matches. The Lions averaged 222 during their first four Baker matches to grab a lead they would not relinquish, finishing the tournament with an 8,554 total. Morehead State would take second at 8,274 followed by Robert Morris-Illinois (8,248), Calumet (8,076) and Davenport (8,048).
Dan Lemiesz of Lindenwood took individual honors with a 1,180 total over five games (236 average) with Morehead State teammates E.J. Smith (1,107) and Justin Franzer (1,100) finishing second and third, respectively. Lindenwood's Connor Druhm and Brad Miller rounded out the top five.
In winning its third consecutive tournament, the Robert Morris-Illinois women's team had to overtake McKendree and Lindenwood on the final day of competition in the 26-team field. The Lady Eagles averaged 200 in the Baker matches to finish with a 7,926 total to top McKendree (7,889) and Lindenwood (7,796). Davenport (7,424) was fourth and Viterbo (7,234) took fifth.
Robert Morris' Caitlin Hofmann had a 1,020 total (204 average) to beat Viterbo's Danielle Weyker by a single pin for the the individual title. Lindenwood's Laura Fonnegra (1,011) was third followed by McKendree's Brandi Branka (1,000) and Alejandra Mora (989) of Robert Morris.

Greater Ozark Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Valparaiso knocked off top qualifier Arkansas State to win the Greater Ozark Invitational, an event featuring NCAA women's teams held Oct. 28-30 at Enterprise Park Lanes.

West Texas A&M took both the men's and women's titles at the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Conference II tournament held Oct. 29. Tyler Masterson of New Mexico and Wendy Shelton of West Texas A&M won the individual titles.

KENOSHA, Wis. - Wisconsin-Stout won the men's title and Wisconsin-Whitewater claimed the women's division at the Wisconsin Conference Second Meet held Oct. 29-30 at Sheridan Lanes.
