The Robert Morris-Illinois men and women captured the top spots at the Boilermaker Classic in Lafayette, Indiana, last weekend.
On the men's side, Robert Morris-Illinois rallied during Baker competition at Mike Aulby's Arrowhead Bowl to finish with 8,233 to surpass McKendree (8,157) for the victory. Lindenwood placed third with 8,090.
McKendree's AJ Johnson took home the top individual honors with a five-game total of 1,100 (220 average). St. Ambrose's Kyle Anderson finished second with 1,072, and Davenport's Bryan Eaton ended up third at 1,051.
The Robert Morris-Illinois women grabbed an early lead and never looked back, finishing more than 500 pins ahead of the field with a winning tally of 7,655. Robert Morris-Springfield took second with 7,152, while Huntington finished third with 7,125.
Haley Baser of Robert Morris-Springfield edged out Stephanie Cieslewicz of Robert Morris-Illinois by four pins to take the top individual spot with 1,015 (203 average). Davenport's Chyanne Hibbs earned third with 980.
In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:
- At the Hampton Roads Collegiate Bowling Invitational in Chesapeake, Virginia, Norfolk State rolled to a 10-0 record to claim the victory.
- At the Sacred Heart Bowl-O-Rama in Wallingford, Connecticut, St. Francis Brooklyn put together a perfect record of 4-0 to capture the top spot.
- At the 1st Annual Stout State Open in Menomonie, Wisconsin, Wisconsin-Stout led qualifying and defeated Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the finals to earn the win.
