The Notre Dame-Ohio men and Pikeville women both defeated Urbana in the championship matches to win the titles at the 2013 UPIKE Orange and Black Classic in Dayton, Ohio.
Notre Dame-Ohio took a 3-1 win over Urbana to win the men's title. After splitting the first two games, Notre Dame-Ohio won the final two games, 248-247 and 223-208. In the women's title match, Pikeville defeated Urbana in three games, 208-185, 203-167 and 184-162.
Kyle Sherman of Lindenwood finished on top of the men's individual standings with a six-game total of 1,415, while Kyle Ortiz of Vincennes was second with 1,365. Ray Spink of Lindenwood was third with 1,362.
Samantha Dudley of Northwestern Ohio earned top honors among the women with a six-game total of 1,339. Brianna Larson of Pikeville was second with 1,313, while Jerracah Heibel of Notre Dame-Ohio was third with 1,309.
In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:
- At the Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic in Peoria, Ill., the Wichita State men and St. Ambrose women came away with the titles.
- At the Pennsylvania Classic in Lancaster, Pa., the Rochester Tech men took a narrow victory over William Patterson, while Briarcliffe had the top score for the women with 7,828.
- At the Tulane Invitational in New Orleans, Stephen F. Austin defeated Sam Houston, 4.5-2.5, to win the title.
- At the KU Fall Baker/Team Matches in Reading, Pa., St. Francis-Pa. finished with the top score of 9,404.
- At the Wisconsin Conference 2nd Meet, the Whitewater men and the Green Bay women finished on top.
