The Notre Dame-Ohio women and men went undefeated in bracket play last weekend to sweep the top spots at the Orange and Black Classic in Dayton, Ohio.

The women's competition was held at Poelking Lanes South and featured 25 varsity teams, while 29 men's varsity teams made their way to Beaver-Vu Bowl. Qualifying consisted of five traditional games and 16 Baker games, with total pinfall determining the top eight teams in each division for match play. Match play featured a best-of-five Baker format to determine the champions.

The Notre Dame-Ohio women, the No. 3 seed, went to the deciding game against No. 8 Campbellsville but cruised to a 222-143 win to secure the victory, 3-2. Notre Dame-Ohio defeated No. 2 Wright State, 3-1, to advance to the finals, while Campbellsville bested No. 4 Concordia in its semifinal match up, 3-1.

Muskingum's Summer Finley posted the top individual effort in the women's field, firing a five-game score of 1,077, a 215.4 average. Wright State's Tori Pappas finished second with 1,075, and a trio of student-athletes from Pikeville - Jessica Wolfe (1,007), Jenna Coldiron (1,006) and Megan Hedgespeth (1,006) - rounded out the top five.

In the men's bracket final, No. 3 Notre Dame-Ohio swept No. 5 Lincoln Memorial for the title, 3-0. Notre Dame-Ohio earned its spot in the championship round by defeating No. 2 Vincennes, 3-1, while Lincoln Memorial knocked off top seed Concordia, 3-1.

Lincoln Memorial's Hunter Kempton fired a 299 game on his way to a 1,163 five-game total to lead the men's field. Concordia's Alex Ouellette was second with 1,114, while Adrian's Dylin Hunter (1,080), Pikeville's Andrew Letscher (1,054) and Notre Dame-Ohio's Ryan Ashby (1,036) also earned spots in the top five.

In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:

-At the Midstates Championships in Wichita, Kansas, the Grand View men swept Wichita State in the bracket final, 3-0, while the Newman women captured the deciding game against Wichita State to claim the title, 3-2.

-At the Blue Hen Open in Wilmington, Delaware, the Penn State men swept the College of New Jersey in the final to record the win, 2-0.

-At the Great Lakes Bowling Conference II in Milwaukee, the Wisconsin-Whitewater men dominated for their second consecutive GLBC win, while the Viterbo women held on to claim their second GLBC win of the season .

-At the Bud Whitman Memorial in Reading, Pennsylvania, the Delaware State women paced the field.

-At the USF Country Classic in Zephyrhills, Florida, the Florida State women rallied in the final game to claim the top spot, while the Webber International men cruised to the win.

-At the UF Baker Shootout, also in Zephyrhills, the Webber International men and Savannah College of Art and Design-Savannah women put together big wins.
