The McKendree men edged out a victory, while Wichita State won the women's title at the Midstates Championships at Northrock Lanes and The Alley in Wichita, Kansas.
McKendree finished with 12,647 to edge the Wichita State men's total of 12,612. Lindenwood claimed third place with 12,281.
AJ Johnson of McKendree earned top individual honors with a nine-game total of 2,083 (231.44 average). Kyle Sherman of Lindenwood was second with 2,004, while AJ Chapman of Wichita State was third with 1,980.
In the women's division, Wichita State finished with a total pinfall of 11,677, while Midland was second with 11,471. Central Missouri finished third with 11,360.
Brittany Smith of Grand View topped the women's standings with 1,966 (218.44 average). Sabrena Divis of Midland was second with 1,878, while Correen Lieber of Lindenwood was third with 1,876.
In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:
- At the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference #1 in Lima, Ohio, the Davenport men picked up a narrow victory over Lawrence Tech, while Concordia took the top spot for the women.
- At the Blue Hen Open in Wilmington, Delaware, N.C. State defeated Sacred Heart, 2-0, in the championship match to take the win.
- At the Storm Western Shootout in Indianapolis, the Vincennes men and Robert Morris-Illinois women picked up victories.
- At the Central Florida Classic in Oviedo, Florida, Florida State defeated Webber International, 2-0, to take the men's title, while Spring Hill College defeated Florida State, 2-1, to win the women's division.
