Collegiate Ticker - Oct. 14, 2026

For the second consecutive year, the Lindenwood women and Marian-Indiana men finished at the top of the standings for the DV8 Western Shootout at Royal Pin Western in Indianapolis.

The 2026 event included 24 women’s teams in the varsity division and 30 varsity squads on the men’s side. Teams bowled six traditional games Saturday and 16 Baker games Sunday, with total pinfall determining the champions.

The tournament also featured different oil patterns for each division and round of competition, testing the versatility of the student-athletes throughout the weekend.

Lindenwood steadily moved toward the top spot Saturday in the women’s division, taking over the lead in the final game of the traditional block. The Lions kept the pace going Sunday during the Baker set and rolled to victory for the second straight season, finishing with a total of 8,880.

Missouri Baptist recorded the runner-up finish with 8,809, and Pikeville placed third with 8,744.

Trine’s Kyla Albright put together four games above 220 on the way to the top individual performance in the women’s division, posting a 1,305 total for six games (217.5 average). Albright’s teammate – Megan Redmond – also earned a spot on the all-tournament team, finishing in fourth with 1,265. Redmond rolled 299 during the third game of the block.

Missouri Baptist’s Samantha DeBeaux finished second with 1,291, while Lindenwood’s Madison Millsaps (1,271) and Jasmine Emswiler (1,241) placed third and fifth, respectively.

In the men’s division, Marian-Indiana shrugged off a slow start. After two traditional games, the Knights were in 23rd place. They averaged more than 236 as a unit during their final four games to finish Saturday’s block in second place, just 27 pins behind Calumet.

The Knights continued to strike during the Baker set Sunday, averaging just over 220 as a team to cruise to the win once again with a final tally of 10,140.

Calumet was second with 9,980, and Pikeville finished third with 9,782.

Midway’s Raymond Atkins earned top individual honors on the men’s side, posting a 1,419 total for his six-game block Saturday (236.5 average). Atkins was joined on the all-tournament team at the Western Shootout by Marian-Indiana’s Easton Pierani (1,388) and Quinn Tillman (1,376), Calumet’s Nathaniel Trentler (1,370) and Vincennes’ Crewz Caswell (1,365).
