Another weekend has passed in the 2024-2025 United States Bowling Congress Collegiate season, highlighted by the National Collegiate Team Match Games in Fairview Heights, Illinois – a Tier I event.

Twenty-five men’s varsity teams and 19 women’s varsity teams bowled five individual games and 20 Baker games, with total pinfall determining the champion.

On the men’s side, Wichita State nearly led from wire-to-wire for their first Tier I victory of the season, winning by nearly 400 pins over second place. Carter Street led the Shockers with a total of 1,138 and placed third overall in the individual block. Marian-Indiana’s Dylan Mollo led all men with 1,210, averaging 242 for his five games. Northwestern Ohio’s Jyles Matthews was second with 1,149, Lindenwood’s Emmanuel McPherson finished fourth with 1,135 and Wisconsin-Whitewater’s James Stewart placed fifth with 1,124. Southern Nazarene’s Brandon Handog achieved perfection in Game 2.

The women’s side was closer, but in the end, the McKendree women won by 70 pins over Lindenwood (8,224-8,154). McKendree was led by Sarah Chilvers, who placed second with 1,029, and Lexus Petrich, who finished fourth with 976. Northwestern Ohio’s Olivia Fehlner led the women’s field with 1,107, while Milligan’s Emily Cheesman (979) and Lindenwood’s Hailey Bozych (969) were third and fifth, respectively.

In other collegiate action:

- At the Brick City Classic and Tiger Cup in Canandaigua, New York, the Akron men swept both events.

- At the Daemen Storm Fall Classic in Lockport, New York, the Lewis women went 7-3 to lead the tournament.

- At the Oak Tree Open and Floria Financial Services Open in Diamond Bar, California, the Grand Canyon men took two straight victories.

- At the Garden State Classic in Howell, New Jersey, the Youngstown State women defeated Nebraska in five games to take the win.

- At the NAIABCA Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky, the Savannah College of Art and Design-Savannah men and women swept the event after winning in match play.

- At the Warrior Classic in Flint, Michigan, the Indiana Wesleyan men and Rochester women left as tournament champions.

- At the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Event 1 in Milan, Illinois, the Marian-Wisconsin and Carroll women left with a share of the lead after going 5-1 in round-robin match play. CCIW Event 2 (March 1-2, 2025) will determine the four teams heading to the CCIW Tournament (March 22-23, 2025).
