The Vincennes men won their 19th National Junior College Athletic Association championship over the weekend, while Erie Community College took the women's title for the 28th time at Thruway Lanes in Cheektowaga, N.Y.
Vincennes won by more than 500 pins over the field, finishing with 13,671 to claim the victory. Schenectady County Community finished second with 13,132, while Iowa Central was third with 12,738.
In the women's team standings, Erie easily topped the field with 12,476, while Highland Community College was second with 12,091. Schenectady took third with 11,878.
The all-events (doubles, singles and team) went to Zach Doty of Schenectady with 2,559 (213.3 average) and Gabrielle Damin of Erie with 2,310 (192.5 average).
Doty teamed with Casey Schoonmaker to give Schenectady the win in men's doubles with 1,209, while Damin paired with Elizabeth Szpara as Erie took the women's doubles with 1,113.
In the singles event, it was Doty who once again claimed the top spot, winning the men's division by more than 100 pins with a 719 series. Dawn Blomker of Iowa Central won the women's singles with 611.
