The Mount Mercy women and Robert Morris-Illinois men survived bracket play unscathed to win the titles at the 7th Annual Roto Grip Eagles Baker Challenge at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill.
Mount Mercy held off the Robert Morris-Illinois women, 3-1, in the title match. In the semifinals, Mount Mercy defeated Grand View, 3-2, while Robert Morris-Illinois swept Robert Morris-Peoria, 3-0.
In the men's title match, Robert Morris-Illinois dominated McKendree, 3-0, to take the title. Robert Morris-Illinois blew past Purdue, 3-0, while McKendree blasted Davenport, 3-0, in the semifinals.
In qualifying, the Robert Morris women led the field with 7,607 and were followed by Grand View at 7,290. Eventual champion Mount Mercy qualified for bracket play in sixth place with 7,083. For the men, Robert Morris led qualifying with 8,447, while Davenport was second with 8,334.
In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:
- At the FSU Seminole Classic in Tallahassee, Fla., the Webber International men and women swept the titles.
- At the Storm Hoinke Bearcat Classic in Cincinnati, Ohio, the titles went to the Urbana men and Lindenwood women.
