UNLV men, Fresno State women win Rebel Classic
LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men earned a close victory while the Fresno State women came out on top at the Rebel Classic at Gold Coast Bowling Center.
UNLV finished with a total of 12,791, edging Fresno State's 12,771 by just 20 pins. St. John's took third with 12,736, while Florida State was fourth among the 16-school field with 12,481.
Fresno State's Ben Keisic won the individual rankings with a seven-game total of 1,616, an average of 230.8. Paul Droluk of St. John's was second with 1,596, Greg Geering of Fresno State took third with 1,581 and Aaron Johnston of West Texas A&M was fourth with 1,453.
On the women's side, Fresno State finished on top of the four-school field with 12,026. Florida State took second with 11,800, while West Texas A&M was third with 11,714.
Nicole Bring of Fresno State took top individual honors with a seven-game total of 1,497, an average of 213.8. Kate Mulcahey of West Texas A&M was second with 1,447.

Lindenwood, McKendree win Lions Classic
ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Lindenwood men and McKendree women survived bracket play to win titles at the Lions Classic at St. Charles and Plaza Lanes.
The Lindenwood men took down McKendree in the championship match of the bracket, while the McKendree women defeated Lindenwood to win the title.
In men's qualifying, Lindenwood led the way with 8,825, while McKendree was second with 8,600 among the 10 schools in the field.
Dan Lemiesz of Lindenwood led the individual standings with a six-game total of 1,242, an average of 207. McKendree's Rich Arens was second with 1,223, while his teammate Sam Lenz was third with 1,206.
In women's qualifying, Lindenwood was first with 8,711, while McKendree was second among the nine-school field with 8,526.
McKendree's Stephanie Scibona won the individual race with a six-game total of 1,228, an average of 204.6. Lindenwood's Amanda Green and McKendree's Marilyn Gawlik tied for second with 1,225.

Briarcliffe sweeps titles at Blue and Orange Classic
WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - The Briarcliffe men and women swept the titles at the Blue and Orange Classic at Hoe Bowl Holiday Lanes.
Briarcliffe's men's team topped the 10-school field with 8,261, while Hudson Valley was second with 8,255. Jack Castellano of Briarcliffe won all-events with a six-game total of 1,411, an average of 235.1, while Erie's David Zajac was second with 1,318.
On the women's side Briarcliffe shot 7,470 to top Hudson Valley's 6,927 among the six schools. Danielle Cessman of Briarcliffe won all-events with a six-game total of 1,161, an average of 193.5, while her teammate Sarah O'Brien was second with 1,125.

NCAA: Fairleigh Dickson wins Kutztown Invitational
READING, Pa. - Defending NCAA champions Fairleigh Dickinson defeated top seed Maryland Eastern Shore, 4-2, on Sunday to win the 2011 Kutztown Invitational at Hiester Lanes.
The event, which was streamed live from start to finish on BOWL.com, featured the largest field of the regular season in NCAA competition. The Knights dropped the first two games to the Hawks but came roaring back to win four straight. They clinched the title with a 245-196 victory in Game 6.
Vanderbilt defeated Kutztown, 4-1, to win the third-place match. The Commodores won the fifth game 245-225 to seal the win.
Norfolk State's Thea Aspiras was the top individual in the tournament with a six-game total of 1,332, an average of 222. Natalie Cortese of Valparaiso and Jessica Earnest of Vanderbilt tied for second with 1,312.
