The Rock Valley women and Wisconsin-Milwaukee men were victorious in the bracket last weekend at the Great Lakes Bowling Conference Championship in Milwaukee, while the Arkansas State women won a thrilling title match at the Lady Techsters Classic in Dallas.
The Great Lakes Bowling Conference Championship was preceded by the fourth conference event of the season (GLBC No. 4).
The GLBC No. 4 featured eight women's varsity teams and 20 men's varsity programs. All teams bowled six traditional games and 16 Baker games, with total pinfall determining the winner in each division.
In the women's division, Marian-Wisconsin benefited from a strong showing during the Baker block to roll to the top spot at GLBC No. 4 with an 8,355 total. Davenport finished second with 8,163, and Rock Valley was third with 8,104.
Davenport's Omani Morales led the way in the individual portion of the GLBC No. 4, taking the lead in the final game with 222 to finish with a 1,192 total, a 198.7 average.
Morales was followed in the standings by Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Morgan Brooks (1,190), Marian-Wisconsin's Brenna Schiekiera (1,182), Davenport's Karine Bouchard (1,130) and Wisconsin-Green Bay's Sami Struzynski (1,127).
On the men's side, Wisconsin-Whitewater posted a wire-to-wire victory at the GLBC No. 4, recording nearly a 500-pin win with a 9,707 total. Davenport was second with 9,213, and Marian-Wisconsin was third with 9,061.
Kyle Vanoteghem of Western Illinois was the top individual performer in the men's division, averaging more than 233 for his six games to finish with a 1,401 total.
Nick Daye of Wisconsin-La Crosse was second with 1,337, while Davenport's Brandon Hyska (1,323), Rock Valley's James Stewart (1,317) and Marian-Wisconsin's Rylee Schwartz (1,315) also finished in the top five.
Once the GLBC No. 4 was complete, the top four women's varsity squads and top eight men's varsity programs advanced to the GLBC Championship, based on total points earned during conference events this season.
The conference championship featured all advancing teams being seeded into a bracket. All rounds leading to the final were contested in a best-of-three Baker format. The final featured a best-of-five Baker match.
In the women's bracket, No. 3 Rock Valley won its semifinal match against No. 2 Davenport (2-1) to advance to the final. Marian-Wisconsin, the top seed for the bracket, advanced with a 2-1 victory over No. 4 Viterbo.
In the title match, Rock Valley won the first two games (191-174, 202-144), but Marian-Wisconsin was able to extend the match with a 191-168 win in Game 3. Rock Valley secured the win and conference title with a 177-171 victory in Game 4.
No. 4 Wisconsin-Milwaukee won its first two matches to advance to the men's final, defeating No. 5 Wisconsin-Stout (2-1) and No. 1 Wisconsin-Whitewater (2-0). Marian-Wisconsin, the No. 2 seed, advanced to the championship with sweeps over No. 7 Wisconsin-Madison (2-0) and No. 6 Davenport (2-0).
In the men's title match, Marian-Wisconsin set the tone with a perfect Baker performance in Game 1, taking the 1-0 advantage, 300-184.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee bounced back, however, recording three consecutive wins (202-169, 199-155, 184-166) to collect the conference title, 3-1.
The Lady Techsters Classic was held at USA Bowl, with 11 varsity women's squads competing for the title.
The event featured five five-game Baker matches, six traditional games and two rounds of bracket play to determine the champion. Teams were seeded in the bracket based on total pinfall for the 11 matches, and each bracket match featured a best-of-seven Baker format.
For a chance at the title, a team had to be seeded in one of the first four spots.

Arkansas State made its move to the top of the overall standings after rolling a 1,089 team score in Game 4 of the traditional block, and the Red Wolves earned the top seed for the bracket with a 10,680 total.
Stephen F. Austin was the No. 2 seed with 10,486, while Louisiana Tech (10,435) and Sam Houston State (10,308) also finished in the top four.
In the first round of bracket play, Arkansas State swept Sam Houston State (4-0) to advance to the title match. Louisiana Tech bested Stephen F. Austin (4-1) to reach the championship round.
In the final, Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech exchanged wins on the left lane for the first six games to push the contest to a seventh game. As the higher seed, Arkansas State elected to stay on the left lane for Game 7 and rolled seven strikes on the way to a 234-190 victory and 4-3 win.
Arkansas State's Brooklyn Buchanan helped lock up the win in the final frame for the Red Wolves with a strike on her first delivery and nine count on her second shot.
The all-tournament team at the Lady Techsters Classic was determined by average for student-athletes who competed in at least five of the six traditional games.
Sam Houston State's Elise Chambers earned top individual honors with a six-game score of 1,277, a 212.83 average. Stephen F. Austin's Chloe Skurzynski averaged 208.2 for five games (1,041 total) to finish in second place.
Louisiana Tech's Allie Leiendecker was third with a six-game average of 207.33 (1,244 total), while Arkansas State teammates Faith Welch (205.83 average - 1,235 total) and Sarah Sanes (204.17 average - 1,225 total) also finished on the all-tournament team.

- At the James Brown Invitational in Baltimore, the North Carolina A&T women averaged more than 238 in the title match against Delaware State to record the win.
- At the Flyer Classic in Lockport, Illinois, the Lewis women rebounded from an early deficit in the title match against Maryville to win the final four games and collect a 4-2 victory.
- At the Ohio Bowling Conference No. 4 in Columbus, Ohio, the Muskingum men and Notre Dame-Ohio women rolled during the Baker round to claim the top spots.
- At the Scotty Classic in Jackson, Michigan, Madonna led the way in the women's field, while Concordia fired 233 in the final Baker game to capture the win in the men's division by 24 pins over Aquinas.
- At the Wildcat Challenge in Lawrence, Kansas, the Baker men and William Penn women finished first in the four-team Baker final.
- At the Suffolk Tournament in West Babylon, New York, the Sacred Heart women and William Paterson men recorded wire-to-wire wins.
- At the Br. Pat Lacey Memorial in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, the Daemen women captured the win in the final match against Saint Vincent.
- At the Westchester Shootout in Fishkill, New York, the Penn State-Berks men and Rochester Institute of Technology women rolled to big wins.
