Lindenwood sweeps titles at ISYL Leatherneck Classic
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - After each qualified third, the Lindenwood University men's and women's teams came through the bracket to capture titles at the Illinois State Youth Leaders Leatherneck Classic held at Town And Country Bowl on Dec. 4-5.
The Lindenwood men topped Wichita State in the semifinals then bested Robert Morris in the championship game to take home their second title this season. The Lindenwood women won their fourth tournament title this year by beating William Penn in the semifinals and Illinois in the title match.
In the 24-team men's division, Webber International led qualifying with a 10,153 pinfall total followed by Wichita State (9,914), Lindenwood (9,798), Robert Morris (Ill.) University (9,779) and Wright State (9,660).
Chris Bardol of Robert Morris, the 2010 USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships winner, took individual honors with a 219 average over six games. William Penn's Sean Rangel (218) was second and Tyler Schmitz (214) of Wisconsin-Whitewater was third.
In the 20-team women's division, Robert Morris had a 9,723 pinfall total to edge Wichita State (9,694) in qualifying. Lindenwood was third at 9,300, just ahead of Webber International (9,162) and Newman University (9,058).
Webber's Jessica Santiago led the women's field with a 1,259 pinfall total to edge Ashley Bell of Wis.-Whitewater by five pins. Samantha Kelly of Robert Morris was third followed by Viterbo's Rachel Schalow and Webber's Diana Zavjalova.

Central Missouri wins Jeanette Lee Invitational
MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - The University of Central Missouri topped Fairleigh Dickinson University to capture the Jeanette Lee Invitational, a 22-team NCAA competition held at Bowl America Southwest Lanes on Dec. 4-5.
Nine teams were 6-0 in the six-game qualifying round with Farleigh Dickinson taking the top seed with a total pinfall of 6,161. Sacred Heart (5,985) was the second qualifier followed by Central Missouri (5,945), New Jersey City (5,804) and Aldelphi (5,773).
Tracy Ganjoin of Fairleigh Dickinson University led all individuals with 229 average over six games. Central Missouri's Kim Wallace (225) was second with Nicole Trudell of Sacred Heart finishing third with a 224 average.

UMES, Norfolk State and Florida A&M lead way at MEAC divisional meets
Maria Rodriguez and T'Nia Falbo led Maryland Eastern Shore to an 8,908 pinfall total and a 9-1 record at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Northern Division meet at Brunswick Columbia Lanes in Columbia, Md., on Dec. 4-5.
Rodriguez had a 1,133 pinfall total to lead the individual standings with Falbo second at 1,045. Hampton's Rebecca Glazier was third at 1,022. UMES leads the MEAC North Division at 19-1.
At the MEAC Southern Divisional, held at AMF Lanes in Chesapeake, Va., on Dec. 4-5, Norfolk State and Florida A&M each went 8-2.
Norfolk State went 5-0 in the team format and 3-2 in Baker matches. Florida A&M was 3-2 in team competition but came back to post a 5-0 record in Baker matches. Norfolk State leads the MEAC South Division at 13-3 followed by Florida A&M at 11-5.

Kutztown claims St. Francis (Pa.) Invitational
LORETTO, Pa. - Kutztown edged tournament host St. Francis (Pa.), 4-3, to take the title at the St. Francis Invitational held Dec. 4-5.
Kutztown was the top qualifier in the tournament for NCAA teams, posting a 4,573 total to lead Adrian (4,245) and St. Francis (4,229) in the six-team field. Kutztown also had the top two individuals in Kayla Stamm (997 for five games) and Brooke Bower (981).

William Paterson, Briarcliffe win Shippensburg Classic titles
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Jonathan Deuire averaged 229 as William Paterson swept the top three individual spots en route to winning the Shippensburg Classic at ABC West Lanes on Dec. 4-5.
Carl Zbranak was second and Paul Garwood was third as William Paterson totaled 9,224 to beat Briarcliffe College (9,091) for the men's title in the 18-team field. Rochester Institute of Technology (9,086) was third and Penn State Main (8,728) was fourth.
Briarcliffe College took the title in the five-team women's field with an 8,021 pinfall total followed by Mohawk Valley Community College and Ursuline College.
Briarcliffe's Gina Capone averaged 200 to lead the women's individual results. Ursuline's Linsday Doll was second and Liz Snyder of Rochester took third.
