A pair of USBC Collegiate Tier I events were held in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to close out 2014 with the Robert Morris-Illinois men and Pikeville women sweeping both events.
At the Roto Grip Keystone Quaker Collegiate Classic at Haja Rose Bowl, RMU topped the men's field by more than 200 pins, finishing with 9,535. Wisconsin-Whitewater finished second with 9,332, while Morehead State was third with 9,222.
Pikeville also won the women's division by more than 200 pins as they finished up with 8,732. The Robert Morris-Illinois women's team was second with 8,523, while the University of St. Francis was third with 8,356.
Top individual honors for the men went to Wright State's Maxx Tamburrino with a five-game total of 1,164. RMU's Tylor Greene was second with 1,137, while Bobby Phillips of Whitewater was third with 1,133.
Stephanie Cieslewicz of RMU led the women's individual standings with a five-game total of 1,085. Sarah Wethington of UCF was second with 1,044, while Malloree Ambs of Concordia was third with 1,044.
At the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic at AMF Parkway Bowling Lanes, RMU won by nearly 400 pins with 9,096. Schnectady was second with 8,710, while Notre Dame-Ohio took the third spot with 8,688.
The Pikeville women's win was a bit narrower as they edge St. Francis by just 39 pins. Pikeville finished with 8,555, while St. Francis had 8,516. Wright State finished third with 8,449.
Purdue's Zach Weidman was the top male finisher with a five-game tally of 1,081, while Schnectady's Justin Carl was second with 1,079. Greene finished third with 1,066.
Caitlin Hofmann of St. Francis and Shannon DeWitt of Wright State topped the women's standings with 1,074 each. Wright State's Courtney Dingledine was third with 1,051.
