Wichita State swept the titles at the National Collegiate Team Match Games, a Tier I event held over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Teams bowled six team games on Saturday and 16 Baker games on Sunday with the women’s teams competing at Bel-Air Bowl in Belleville, Illinois, and the men’s competition taking place at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Wichita State posted an 11,060 pinfall total to top Lindenwood (10,739) and St. Francis (10,317) in the 18-team women’s field. McKendree placed fourth at 10,286 with Grand View finishing fifth at 10,175.
McKendree’s Emily Consevage took women’s individual honors with a 1,265 pinfall total (210.8 average) for six games, just ahead of three Wichita State bowlers – Dasha Kovalova (1,257), Chenoa Rhoades (1,214) and Brianna Amidon (1,207). Baker University’s Allyson Ware (1,196) placed fifth.
The Wichita State men’s 11,980 pinfall total topped host McKendree (11,605) by 375 pins for the title. Vincennes (11,406) took third and was followed by Lindenwood (11,064) and Urbana (11,015) in the 19-team field.
McKendree’s Steven Jarvis averaged 224.3 over six games for a 1,346 pinfall total to edge Davenport’s Kyle Koprowitz (1,334) for the men’s individual title. Michael Coffey (1,308) of Lindenwood and McKendree’s Greg Young tied for third at 1,308 with Clarke’s Andrew Willems (1,306) placing fifth.
