Buffalo youth members watch PBA Tour event

The Mark Roth Plastic Ball Championship is a unique event on the Lumber Liquidators Professional Bowlers Association Tour and several USBC Youth members from the Greater Buffalo USBC had the chance to watch PBA Tour players compete in the event at AMF Thruway Lanes in Cheektowaga, N.Y.

As part of the PBA/USBC Insiders' Tour, five USBC Youth members were on hand to see Jason Couch win the title, his first PBA Tour title in four years and the 16th of his career, with a 219-175 victory over Hall of Famer Parker Bohn III.

After the title match, the USBC Youth bowlers had went onto the approach to have their picture taken with Couch. The USBC Youth members were (from left): Connor Lajoy, 14, and Jeffery Stewart, who bowl at AMF Thruway Lanes; Thomas Holmes, 15, who bowls Arcade Lanes; Skylar Tharnish, 11, who bowls at Springville Lanes; and Caitlin Vazquez, 17, who bowls at AMF Airport Lanes.

The PBA/USBC Insiders' Tour gave the youth bowlers special access at the PBA event, including the opportunity to meet PBA Tour stars, a behind-the-scenes tour of the center and special seats for the ESPN television finals. The USBC Youth members at the PBA Tour stops usually can be seen sporting their USBC Youth jerseys. Program participants were randomly selected from area USBC Youth bowlers.
