January 30, 2012
ARLINGTON, Texas - Bowling fans will be able to watch two special live broadcasts next month produced by the United States Bowling Congress on BowlTV - the USBC Open Championships Kickoff Special and the USBC Collegiate Sectionals Assignments Show.
The first live broadcast, the USBC Open Championships Kickoff Special, will take place Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. Eastern from the Baton Rouge River Center in Baton Rouge, La. The USBC Collegiate Sectionals Assignment Show will be broadcast Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. Eastern.
"These shows will offer important information presented in a way that has never before been available to bowling fans," USBC Managing Director of Media and Events Pete Tredwell said. "These are can't-miss shows for competitors and fans of both the Open Championships and college bowling."
The Open Championships Kickoff Special will feature the revelation of the lane condition for the 2012 event, along with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the venue in Baton Rouge. The show will offer advice and analysis on the lane condition being used in 2012, which could prove valuable for participants in the event.
For college bowling fans, the USBC Collegiate Sectionals Assignments Show will announce the teams that have been selected to compete in the postseason at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectionals. In addition to finding out which teams made the post season, the show will also announce which sectional site each team has been assigned to for 2012.
